Reference 68240 is the all-stainless steel, engine-turned bezel model from the 31mm ‘Mid-Size’ Datejust 68xxx series, produced from the late 1980s through the late 1990s. Its primary technical feature, specified by the 24 in the reference number, is a ‘finely engine-turned’ bezel crafted from stainless steel. This reference is historically significant as the successor to the Ref. 6824, distinguished by the technical upgrade to a flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal from the previous acrylic crystal.
