Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6567 Description

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 6567 is a vintage automatic model produced during the mid-to-late 1950s, offering a refined yet practical design that embodied Rolex’s evolving post-war watchmaking philosophy. The 34mm case was crafted in stainless steel, although solid gold variants were also produced, often paired with fluted or smooth bezels to suit a range of customer tastes. The watch was powered by the Rolex Caliber 1030, the brand’s first fully in-house self-winding movement with bi-directional winding and a power reserve of around 42 hours. Dials were offered in silver, champagne, or cream tones, featuring applied baton or arrowhead indices and dauphine or pencil hands beneath a domed acrylic crystal. A screw-down crown and caseback helped ensure water resistance typical of the Oyster case, while the 42mm lug-to-lug and 19mm lug width maintained wearable proportions. The 6567 was commonly sold on riveted Oyster bracelets, although period-correct leather strap options also exist. Today, this reference is valued by collectors for its mechanical importance, understated elegance, and position within Rolex’s critical period of design and movement innovation. It represents one of the definitive examples of Rolex’s mid-century approach to everyday luxury watchmaking.
