OTTUHR has a private office base out of Miramar Beach, FL, where all inventory is inspected and stored.

DO YOU NEGOTIATE ON PRICING?

Yes, we always accept offers; however, unlike the ‘traditional’ dealer model of marking our prices up for the sole purpose of negotiating down. We strive to price our products sensibly to market from the start, of course, factoring in condition, rarity, and the value of our service warranty and guarantees.

ARE OTTUHR WATCHES SERVICED?

All pre-owned & vintage watches get carefully examined before listing to ensure authenticity. Any noticeable restoration or replacement components will be disclosed. If mechanical service is required (anything from a regulation to a complete mechanical teardown and rebuild), it will be performed prior to listing. 

WHY DO SOME LISTINGS HAVE IMAGES OF THE MOVEMENT WHILE OTHERS DON’T?

We try to include images of the movement in all listings for a transparent purchase, but our ability to include those images depends on several factors, including the team member taking the images, the watch, and if any o-rings or waterproof seals have been recently applied.

DOES OTTUHR CHARGE SALES TAX?

We are legally registered & required to collect sales tax to all orders shipped with in the state of Florida. We do not charge sales tax on orders shipped outside of the state of Florida. Click here for more information on sales and use tax.

WHY DON’T YOU LIST THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE?

In most cases, it’s simply impossible to determine the exact year a watch was assembled and shipped from the factory. The batch manufacturing process prevalent in watchmaking involves producing components in separate batches, assembling them, and sending them as needed. Consequently, a case, dial, and movement might have been manufactured over several years, assembled when orders were received, and sold at retail later.

HOW DO YOU GUARANTEE AUTHENTICITY?

OTTUHR stands behind the authenticity of our watches. Every watch is inspected to confirm all parts are manufactured and time period correct.

DO YOU PRESSURE TREAT YOUR WATCHES?

We do not recommend using our timepieces in wet environments. While our watches are well-constructed, they rely on a small rubber gasket to prevent moisture ingress, which can fail with alarming frequency. Unlike brand-new wristwatches with replacement guarantees, our watches are unique in their wear, character, and patina. While we would not have concerns wearing our timepieces daily, we recommend keeping them away from water whenever possible. We advise you to limit your watch’s interaction with water to handwashing or a brief rinse during cleaning.

DO YOU DO TRADE-INS?

Yes, we accept trade-ins. We do not have a dedicated form at this time, but to get more information about a trade-in, you can always submit an inquiry on the product page or by contacting us and providing the relevant details.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED ONLINE?

WARRANTY

How long is the warranty on my watch valid?

Every vintage and pre-owned watch sold by Ottuhr is backed by a Two-Year (24-month) Limited Mechanical Warranty. The coverage begins on the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

What exactly does the warranty cover?

The warranty specifically covers defects in materials and workmanship relating to the mechanical movement of the timepiece. This includes internal components such as the mainspring, balance wheel, gear train, escapement, and automatic winding mechanisms. It ensures the watch functions and keeps time within our age-based accuracy standards.

Is water damage covered under the warranty?

No. Water damage is expressly excluded from the warranty. Due to the age of vintage timepieces and the natural degradation of seals, we cannot guarantee water resistance, regardless of any rating engraved on the case. We strongly recommend treating all vintage watches as non-water-resistant and removing them before swimming, showering, or washing hands.

Does the warranty cover the crystal, case, or strap?

No. The warranty covers the internal mechanical movement only. It does not cover cosmetic or aesthetic components, including the case, crystal (glass), dial, hands, bezel, bracelet, strap, or buckle. Scratches, chips, or normal wear on these exterior parts are not covered.

What happens if I drop my watch? 

Damage resulting from accidents, impacts, drops, or shocks is not covered. The warranty applies to mechanical defects that occur under normal use conditions, not physical damage caused by external forces or negligence.

How do I initiate a warranty claim? 

To start a claim, please email us at warranty@ottuhr.com with your proof of purchase and a description of the issue. We will review your request and issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number with shipping instructions. Please do not ship your watch without receiving an RMA first.

Who pays for shipping during a warranty claim?

The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping and insuring the timepiece to our facility for evaluation. If the repair is covered under warranty, Ottuhr will pay for standard return shipping back to you (within the continental United States).

Can I take the watch to my local watchmaker for repair? 

No. The warranty is void if the watch is opened, serviced, or repaired by anyone other than Ottuhr or an authorized service provider. If a third party opens the case back, the warranty is immediately invalidated.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell the watch? 

No. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. If the watch is sold to a new owner, the warranty coverage ends.

What are your shipping rates for the United States?

We offer complimentary (free) standard insured shipping on all domestic watch orders. If you need your timepiece sooner, we offer the following expedited options at checkout:

  • UPS Air 2-Day Delivery: $9.99

  • Expedited Overnight Delivery: $29.99

What are your shipping rates for Europe, the UK, Canada, and Mexico? 

We offer tiered shipping options based on speed and order value for these regions:

  • Economy Shipping (6-12 Days): $14.99 or free for orders over $499.99.

  • International Standard (4-8 Days): $24.99

  • International Express (2-4 Days): $49.99

What are the shipping rates for the rest of the world?

For all other international destinations, shipping is calculated based on the order value:

  • Orders over $1,000: Free shipping.

  • Orders under $1,000: Flat rate of $29.99.

How long does processing take before shipment?

Please allow 1-2 business days for our team to inspect, pack, and verify your order before it is handed over to the carrier, regardless of the shipping method selected.

Is the shipment insured and is a signature required?

Yes. Every timepiece is fully insured for its replacement value during transit. For security, an adult signature is required upon delivery for select orders.

What is your return policy?

We offer free returns within 30 days of delivery. The return window begins on the date the carrier marks the package as delivered. More Information

How do I initiate a return?

What condition must the watch be in?

 To receive a full refund, the watch must be returned in the exact condition received:

  • No additional signs of damage and remains unaltered.

  • All original boxes and accessories included.

  • We cannot accept returns for watches that have been altered, scratched, or damaged after delivery.

When will I receive my refund?

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 2 business days of our receipt and inspection of the return. Please allow 5-10 business days for your bank to post the funds.
