Omega 565 Description

The Omega Caliber 565 is widely regarded as one of the brand’s best and most robust automatic movements of the 1960s. As part of the celebrated 550/560 family, it is renowned for its durability and excellent timekeeping. Its most significant feature, introduced in 1966, was the innovative quick-set date function, which allowed the user to rapidly advance the date by repeatedly pulling the crown out to its second position. This “pump action” was a major user-convenience improvement over older systems. The 24-jewel, copper-plated movement was a true workhorse, powering some of Omega’s most iconic tool watches, including the legendary Seamaster 300 (ref. 166.024), as well as numerous other Seamaster and Genève models. The Caliber 565’s combination of a long power reserve, robust construction, and practical quick-set date makes it a highlight of Omega’s mid-century movement production.
