Omega 570 Description

The Omega Caliber 570 is a high-quality automatic movement from the late 1950s, serving as the time-only base in the 57x sub-family of Omega’s larger 550-series automatics. Introduced around 1958, this caliber is essentially the direct predecessor to the more unusual Caliber 571, foregoing that model’s pointer-date complication in favor of a clean, classic three-hand layout with a central sweep seconds. As a member of the 550 family, it benefits from the series’ robust engineering, including a bi-directional winding rotor, a modern 19,800 A/h beat rate for improved accuracy, and a substantial 50-hour power reserve. The Caliber 570 was a reliable workhorse, powering various non-date Seamaster and Genève models of the era and representing the technical excellence of Omega’s automatic movements before the widespread adoption of date windows.
