Omega 611 Description

The Omega Caliber 611 is a robust, manual-wind movement from the highly successful 600 series, which served as a cornerstone of Omega’s production in the 1960s. Introduced in 1962, the 611 is functionally a Caliber 601 (time only) with an added date complication. This movement family was praised for its reliability and solid performance, powering a vast range of popular Omega models, including the Seamaster 600, De Ville, and Genève lines. The Caliber 611 features a central sweep second hand and a date function, which, characteristic of the era, was not quick-set and required advancing the hands past midnight to change. Operating at a steady 19,800 A/h, this 17-jewel movement was a dependable workhorse that offered the practical addition of a date display to the proven and accurate 600-series architecture before being phased out in favor of the quick-set date Caliber 613.
