Rolex 1520 Description

The Rolex Caliber 1520 is an automatic movement introduced in 1963. It was based on the Caliber 1530 and was designed as a durable and more cost-effective option for Rolex’s non-chronometer watches. It famously powered the Submariner Ref. 5513 and the Air-King Ref. 5500. The 1520 is characterized by its use of a stick regulator and a flat hairspring. Despite not being a certified chronometer, it is highly regarded for its robustness and reliability, solidifying its place as a workhorse movement in Rolex’s history.
