Rolex 4030 Description

The Rolex 4030 is the legendary automatic chronograph movement that powered the “Zenith” Daytona from 1988 to 2000. It is based on the Zenith El Primero 400 ebauche but was so heavily modified by Rolex (approx. 50% of parts changed) that it’s considered a unique Rolex caliber. Key changes include reducing the beat rate to 28,800 A/h, removing the date, and adding a Rolex balance with a Breguet overcoil.
