Rolex 722 Description

The Rolex Caliber 722 (R72B) is a manual-wind column-wheel chronograph based on the Valjoux 72. As the successor to the initial R72, it was used in the first Cosmograph Daytona models (ref. 6239) around 1963-1965. Its primary upgrade was the consistent implementation of an improved shock protection system (Kif Flector), enhancing durability. It retained the 18,000 A/h beat rate and flat hairspring of its predecessor and was succeeded by the Cal. 722-1.
