Rolex 722-1 Description

The Rolex Caliber 722-1 is a manual-wind column-wheel chronograph, representing a significant Rolex-modified version of the Valjoux 72. It served as a transitional movement for the Cosmograph Daytona in the mid-1960s. Key upgrades over the preceding Cal. 722 include a Breguet overcoil and Microstella regulation. It was the immediate predecessor to the higher-beat Rolex Cal. 727 and is found in iconic Daytona references like the 6239 and 6241.
