Rolex Air-King 4925 Description
The Rolex Air‑King ref. 4925 was produced from 1945 to 1948 and stands as one of the earliest references in the Air‑King lineage. This model was part of Rolex’s effort to create a line of watches in tribute to the pilots of the British Royal Air Force, combining durability with legibility. It featured a 34 mm stainless steel Oyster case, a smooth polished bezel, and a domed acrylic crystal. Powered by the hand-wound Rolex Caliber 10.5 Hunter, the 4925 offered a time-only display without a date. Its profile measured approximately 11 mm in thickness, with a 42 mm lug-to-lug span and 19 mm lug width. Dial configurations typically featured radium lume with Arabic numerals or a mix of numeral and baton markers, often with ‘Precision’ text. Today, the 4925 is extremely rare and collectible due to its early production, military roots, and historical relevance in establishing the Air‑King identity.
