Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6239

Reference 6239 is the very first reference of the Rolex Cosmograph, introduced in 1963, and the first to bear the “Daytona” name on the dial (though not immediately). Its key technical features are a 37.5mm non-Oyster case with “pump” pushers, an engraved steel tachymeter bezel with markings up to 300 units, and the Valjoux 722 manual-wind movement. It is historically significant as the genesis of the Daytona legend, establishing the core design DNA of the tachymeter bezel and contrasting sub-dials. Early examples are particularly valued for their “pre-Daytona” dials.
