Rolex Oyster Perpetual 5002

The Rolex 5002 is a very rare and historically important reference from the late 1940s known to collectors as a “Big Bubbleback” or “Ovettone” (Italian for “big egg”). This model marks a significant step in the evolution of the Oyster Perpetual, transitioning from the smaller 32mm Bubblebacks to a more substantial and modern 36mm case size. This larger case, powered by the A295 automatic caliber, paved the way for the iconic Rolex Datejust.
