Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6569 Description
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 6569 is a vintage automatic wristwatch introduced in the mid-1950s, part of Rolex’s continuous refinement of its Oyster Perpetual line. Encased in a 34mm stainless steel body, the 6569 typically came with a smooth or engine-turned bezel, reflecting the restrained and utilitarian aesthetic Rolex embraced in the post-war era. It is powered by the Rolex Caliber 1030, one of the brand’s earliest and most historically significant self-winding movements, known for its bi-directional winding system and approximately 42-hour power reserve. Dial configurations were classically understated, with silver or champagne finishes, applied baton hour markers, and dauphine hands. The acrylic crystal, screw-down crown, and solid caseback contributed to the watch’s durability and water resistance—hallmarks of the Oyster design. With a lug-to-lug measurement of approximately 42mm and a lug width of 19mm, the 6569 offers balanced proportions that suit a variety of wrist sizes. It was often delivered on riveted Oyster bracelets or paired with period-correct leather straps. Today, the 6569 is appreciated by vintage collectors for its reliable mechanics, timeless aesthetics, and its place within the lineage of Rolex’s pioneering automatic models.
