Rolex Oyster Perpetual 7619 Description

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 7619 was introduced in the early 1980s as part of the brand’s midsize offerings within the Oyster Perpetual family. Designed for both men with smaller wrists and women seeking a more robust watch, the reference 7619 featured a 31mm stainless steel case with classic Oyster styling. It was powered by the automatic Rolex Caliber 2135, known for its durability and high beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering a 42-hour power reserve. The case included a screw-down crown and caseback, maintaining Rolex’s signature water resistance of up to 100 meters. Dials were available in a variety of finishes including silver, champagne, and blue, with baton markers and stick hands, and without a date display. The watch used a lug width of 16mm and had a lug-to-lug measurement of approximately 37.5mm, making it comfortable and balanced on the wrist. Though overshadowed by larger and more complicated models, the 7619 stands out today for its understated elegance and historical role in Rolex’s effort to broaden its lineup during the quartz crisis. It is increasingly appreciated by collectors for its clean design, mechanical reliability, and accessible size.
