Rolex Oysterdate Precision 6466 Description

The Rolex Oysterdate Precision ref. 6466 is a compact, manually wound watch produced from the late 1950s through the early 1970s. Positioned within the Oysterdate lineup, this reference was targeted at those who preferred a smaller case size and the charm of manual winding. The watch features a 31mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth bezel, acrylic crystal, and the familiar screw-down crown and caseback. It houses the Rolex Caliber 1215, a manual-wind movement with a date complication visible through the Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock. Dials were typically offered in understated colors like silver or black with simple baton hour markers and pencil hands. Despite its small dimensions, the 6466 maintains Rolex’s hallmark quality and waterproof integrity. It measures approximately 38mm lug-to-lug with a lug width of 17mm. While less prominent in collector circles due to its size, the 6466 is valued for its vintage character, reliability, and more accessible price point.
