Rolex Submariner 6536 Description

The Rolex Submariner 6536 is a rare and historically significant dive watch produced between 1955 and 1959. Known as a “Small Crown” Submariner, it features a 6mm crown and lacks crown guards, distinguishing it from its “Big Crown” sibling, the 6538. Its 37mm stainless steel case houses the automatic Caliber 1030 movement and is water-resistant up to 100 meters. The watch showcases a black gilt dial with luminous hour markers and a bidirectional rotating black aluminum bezel insert with a 60-minute scale. Variations include the 6536/1 and the transitional 6536/8, which share characteristics with the 6538. Collectors value the 6536 for its early Submariner design and rarity, with prices ranging from $35,000 to over $100,000 depending on condition and originality.
