Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6065 Description

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6065 is a classic two-tone “Rolesor” model from the early 1950s that captures a moment of technical transition for the brand. Produced around 1951, the watch’s historical significance is tied to its use of the “Super-Oyster” crown, a short-lived, non-screwing, spring-loaded waterproof system Rolex briefly adopted. This feature makes it an interesting collector’s piece. The watch features a 34mm stainless steel Oyster case, complemented by a finely decorated 18k yellow gold engine-turned bezel and the matching gold Super-Oyster crown. Dials were typically silvered with applied gold dart or pyramid markers, creating a look of mid-century elegance. Powered by the Rolex A260 automatic movement, the 6065 is a handsome example of Rolex’s evolving design and technology in the post-war era.
