Reference 6262 is an extremely rare, transitional vintage manual-wind Daytona, produced for only about one year around 1970. Its technical significance lies in being one of the first references to use the upgraded Valjoux 727 movement (which would power the later 6263/6265 models), but housed in the older-style case with non-Oyster “pump” pushers. It features an engraved metal tachymeter bezel. The 6262 represents a fleeting moment in the Daytona’s evolution, combining a new movement with an old case design, making it a “one-year-wonder” and a grail for specialist collectors.
