Rolex Datejust 1607

Reference 1607 is a rare, decorative model from the 36mm Datejust 16xx series, produced from the 1960s through the 1970s. Its primary technical feature, specified by the 07 in the reference number, is a bezel with a ‘bark’ finish. This artisanal texture, crafted from solid 18k yellow gold, consists of a fine, hand-applied, engraved pattern resembling wood grain. This finish was frequently extended to the center links of the corresponding gold Jubilee or President bracelet. The watch is powered by the Rolex Caliber 1575, a non-quickset date chronometer movement. The case is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal.
