Rolex Datejust 6800

Reference 6800 is an early and uncommon reference for the 26mm Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust, produced in the early 1980s. It represents the archetypal stainless steel, smooth-bezel configuration for its generation. It is powered by the Rolex Caliber 2035/2135 family of movements. These automatic calibers were technically significant as they operated at a high frequency of 28,800 vph and introduced the ‘quickset’ date complication to the Lady-Datejust line. The technical specification denotes a 26mm stainless steel case with a smooth, polished bezel (00 code) and an acrylic crystal. The Ref. 6900 is significant as a direct precursor to the more commonly known Ref. 69160.
