Reference 18208 specifies the smooth-bezel Day-Date 36 from the 182xx series, which was in production from 1988 to c. 2000. This series is defined by a major mechanical upgrade over its predecessor. The watch is powered by the Rolex Caliber 3155, a 31-jewel COSC-certified chronometer whose historical significance is its introduction of the ‘double quickset’ complication, allowing both the day and date displays to be rapidly and independently adjusted via the crown. The 36mm Oyster case is constructed from 18k yellow gold (8) and features a smooth, domed bezel (0), giving it a more contemporary profile than the traditional fluted version.
