Rolex Oyster 6082 Description

The Rolex Oyster ref. 6082 is a vintage time-only wristwatch produced in the early 1950s that represents Rolex’s continued effort to offer durable, precision timepieces in an accessible, manually wound format. This reference typically came in a 34mm case crafted from stainless steel or gold, complete with a domed acrylic crystal and screw-down crown and caseback that provided water resistance as part of the Oyster case system. Unlike many other Oyster references from the period that featured automatic calibers, the 6082 houses the manually wound Rolex Caliber 710, a reliable and straightforward movement with a power reserve of around 41 hours. Dial variants included silver, champagne, and cream tones, often paired with Arabic numerals or baton markers, pencil hands, and radium lume applications on certain models. It features a lug-to-lug measurement of approximately 42mm and a lug width of 19mm. The 6082 is significant as it maintained Rolex’s high standards for case construction and accuracy in a manual format, appealing to those who preferred slimmer profiles and greater control over winding. Though overshadowed by the automatic Oyster Perpetual line, the 6082 remains a respected and collectible piece from Rolex’s early post-war catalog.
