Introduced in 1953, it is a “bumper” style automatic, where the oscillating rotor bumps between two buffer springs rather than rotating a full 360 degrees. What makes the Caliber 355 exceptional is its triple calendar complication, displaying the day, date, and month in apertures on the dial. This level of complexity was highly unusual for a bumper movement and was reserved for Omega’s top-tier models of the era, such as the Constellation Calendar. Operating at a modern 19,800 A/h and featuring chronometer-grade adjustments, the Caliber 355 represents the pinnacle of Omega’s bumper automatic technology before the transition to full-rotor movements, making it a highly collectible and historically significant caliber.
