Dated to 1936 by its movement’s serial number, this vintage Lord Elgin is a classic American Art Deco timepiece. It is powered by the high-grade, 21-jewel Elgin Caliber 559, a manual-wind movement made in the USA. The 14k gold-filled “tank” style case is elegantly curved to conform to the wrist’s contour. Its silvered dial, which displays a notable patina, features the iconic “Star Dial” signature, stylized applied Arabic numerals, and a rectangular subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The watch is completed with gold-tone feuille hands and a brown leather strap.
