Rolex 72C Description

The Rolex Caliber 72C is a manual-wind, triple-calendar chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 72C. It was heavily modified and finished by Rolex to power their rare and highly collectible “Dato-Compax” or “Jean-Claude Killy” models from the 1940s to 1960s. This movement is a prime example of a high-grade, complicated column-wheel chronograph from the mid-20th century, combining a 12-hour chronograph with displays for the day, date, and month.
