Seiko 6217A Description

The Seiko 6217A is a historically crucial automatic movement, as it powered Japan’s first-ever diver’s watch, the Seiko “62MAS” (ref. 6217-8000/1) from 1965. Part of the robust Seikomatic 62-series, this caliber was a simple and reliable workhorse. It featured Seiko’s Diashock protection and a non-quickset date function, establishing the foundation for Seiko’s legendary line of dive watch movements.
