Rolex Chronograph 3335 Description

The Rolex Chronograph reference 3335 is a highly regarded and rare non-Oyster model produced from the late 1930s into the mid-1940s. Its historical significance is rooted in its large and elegant proportions, which were ahead of their time and appeal greatly to modern collectors. The watch features a substantial 38mm three-body case with a snap-on back, giving it a strong presence on the wrist. It is celebrated for its classic pre-Daytona aesthetics, including rectangular chronograph pushers and graceful lugs. The reference 3335 was produced in various materials, including stainless steel, 18k yellow gold, and two-tone steel and gold combinations. Dials varied significantly, with silvered, black, or two-tone finishes, often featuring complex multi-scale tracks for the tachymeter and telemeter. Powering the watch is the robust and reliable manually wound 13-ligne caliber, based on the Valjoux 22. Its combination of a large case size, elegant design, and rarity makes the 3335 a quintessential example of a top-tier 1940s gentleman’s chronograph.
