The Reference 3695 is an exceptionally rare and oversized chronograph from the early 1940s, sometimes nicknamed “Spillino” (Italian for pin) by collectors. Its key technical feature is its oversized case, measuring 38mm, with very long, straight “pin” lugs. It is powered by a Valjoux 22-based manual-wind movement. The watch is often found in a two-tone “Rolesor” combination of steel and pink gold. Its significance lies in its imposing size for its era and its unique case design, making it a highly sought-after example of Rolex’s early large-format chronographs.
