The Reference 3827 is a very rare and early Rolex chronograph from the late 1930s and early 1940s, often considered a ladies’ or boys’ size model. Its key technical feature is its diminutive case size, measuring approximately 30-31mm in diameter. The case, typically crafted in 18k gold, features a non-Oyster snap-on back and elegant lugs. It is a two-register chronograph, powered by a small Valjoux-based manual-wind caliber. Its significance lies in its representation of the small-form, high-jewelry chronographs produced in an era before sports watches became predominantly large.
