The Reference 4113 is a historically significant ‘grail’ timepiece, representing Rolex’s only known split-seconds (rattrapante) chronograph. With only 12 examples documented from 1942, it is one of the rarest Rolex models. Its technical heart is a heavily modified Valjoux 55 VBR manual-wind movement, which integrates the rattrapante complication. The oversized 44mm stainless steel case is exceptionally thin, featuring a non-Oyster snap-on case back. Its significance lies in its mechanical complexity, extreme rarity, and immense value.
