The 29 configuration code denotes a specific and opulent technical layout: a bezel factory-set with 32 brilliant-cut diamonds, paired with lugs that are also factory-set with a total of 116 brilliant-cut diamonds. This dual application of diamonds on both the bezel and case places the 80299 in the upper tier of Rolex’s jewelry watches. Its significance is as a “factory pavé” piece where the gems are integral to the case design itself. The 29mm case houses the Caliber 2235 chronometer movement.
