Rolex Oyster Perpetual 6106 Description

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6106 is a classic and uncommon two-tone “Rolesor” model from the early 1950s. Its historical significance lies in its blend of refined aesthetics and transitional technology. Produced around 1952, the watch features a 34mm stainless steel case, accented with an 18k yellow gold engine-turned bezel and a matching gold “Super-Oyster” crown. The use of the Super-Oyster crown—a short-lived, non-screwing, spring-loaded waterproof system—marks this reference as an interesting piece from a brief period of Rolex’s technical experimentation. The finely detailed engine-turned bezel adds a touch of elegance, making it a distinctive dress watch. Dials were typically silvered with applied gold dagger-style markers, powered by the Rolex A260 automatic movement.
